Return Policy for Original Paintings

 

Before You Buy

Please review the painting’s images, dimensions, medium, and description carefully before purchasing. I am happy to answer questions or provide additional photographs when possible, so you can make your decision with confidence.
 

14-day return period

I want you to feel confident purchasing an original painting. Because artwork is personal and best experienced in person, I offer a 14-day return period for original paintings purchased directly through my website. This policy follows the common 14-day review period used by major online art marketplaces for eligible original artwork.
 

Eligibility

You may request a return within 14 calendar days of the delivery date.

To be eligible, the painting must be returned:
 
• In the same condition in which it arrived.

• In its original packaging, including any certificate of authenticity or accompanying materials.

• Unaltered, undamaged, and not reframed, cleaned, varnished, or otherwise modified.

• With prior written return authorization from me.

Please contact me at artist@michaellynnadams.com before returning any artwork. Do not ship a painting back without authorization and packing instructions.
 

Return Shipping

Change of Mind

For a return based on a change of mind, the collector is responsible for securely packing, insuring, and paying for return shipping. The painting must be returned using a tracked, insured service and packed according to the instructions provided.
Original shipping charges are nonrefundable.
 

Damage or Different from Its Description

A painting that arrives damaged, is materially different from its description, or was sent in error may be returned at no cost to the collector. Please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and include clear photographs of the artwork, packaging, and shipping damage so that a carrier claim can be documented. Major art platforms likewise require prompt notice, images, and return shipment in original or protective packaging for damage or description-related claims.
 

Refunds

Once the returned painting is received and inspected, I will notify you of the outcome. If approved, your refund will be issued to the original method of payment within 7–14 business days.
 
The refund will include the purchase price of the artwork, less any original shipping charges and, for change-of-mind returns, any return-shipping costs paid by the collector.
 

Non-Returnable Items

The following are final sale and cannot be returned except when damaged in transit or materially misrepresented:

• Commissioned or custom paintings.

• Paintings that have been altered, framed, stretched, cropped, cleaned, or otherwise modified after delivery.

• Sale items clearly marked Final Sale.

• Paintings purchased through a gallery, exhibition, auction, or another third-party seller; those purchases are subject to that seller’s policy.

• Custom work and altered artwork are commonly excluded from marketplace return guarantees.
