Three painting accepted to Salon International 2009

Lime
Three of my paintings will be on display at Salon International at the Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art in San Antonio, Texas, beginning April 11. “Lime,” “Picnic at Santa Ynez,” and “Orange” have been selected for inclusion in this prestigious competition. This year’s judge is Daniel E. Greene, N.A., considered on be of the foremost realist painters of our time. This the third consecutive year Adams work has exhibited at Salon International.
I have recently focused on still life, following my passion for good food, wine and beauty. My paintings explore the play of light on the shapes and texture of both natural and handmade objects. The goal is to take ordinary subjects and create works that reveal their extraordinary beauty.
Although at first glace some of my work appears almost photographic, a closer look reveals that I want the viewer to experience these painting as hand-crafted objects. I am fascinated with the magic that happens when the painted subject appears solid and real but the painter’s hand is still clearly visible.
I hope you will visit Salon International if you are in San Antonio the Spring.
