“Bread and Wine” is a composition I have been thinking about for a long time. This is God’s gift of true comfort food.

I dedicate this painting to my amazing brother and sister-in-law Mark and Robin Pederson who, along with there partners recently opened a wine shop,Wednesday Wines, in McMinneville, OR. Mark is a pastor who shares my passion for wine, and writes the blog “A Theology of Wine.” In one post Mark explains why Wednesday Wines was begun, “Helping the arts and local charities is at the heart of what we are trying to do with our little wine shop. We give away 10% of our profits each month to a rotating group of charities. We host a number of classes and arts events and love to do so. I’m so glad that I serve a congregation that sees wine as a blessing and not as a curse. I want to do as much good as I humanly can with this gift that God has given to me, to us. I feel blessed to have partners in this business who desire to bless other people by their efforts. I also feel blessed to have a church that feels the same way, that we are created to bless those around us.”
The painting is 16 x 20 inches done on my favorite support, linen mounted on hard board.
I hope you enjoy this demo. Please let me know what you think.
